Exhibition Launch at the Linen Hall Library

Exhibition Launch at the Linen Hall Library

As part of BCM's 125th Anniversary celebrations the Linen Hall Library, Belfast is hosting an exhibition of BCM’s archive photographs, documents and artefacts.  On display are some of BCM’s early twentieth century Hogg images of life in the Belfast slums together with a variety of items representing BCM’s involvement in the life of the city.

Also to mark the anniversary, Wesley Weir, BCM’s archivist, has written an updated history of BCM throughout its first 125 years using some of the content of the vast archive.  “Through Changing Scenes” is available HERE.

The launch event which was hosted Wednesday 22nd October, was attended and officially opened by Councillor Maire Hendron Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast and included guest speakers Dr Janice Holmes from the Open University and Dr Myrtle Hill formerly of Queen's University, Belfast.

The exhibition is now open to the public free of charge at the Linen Hall Library.  The exhibition will be available to view until 29th November 2014.
