Through Changing Scenes Exhibition

The Governors of the Linen Hall Library, Belfast will be hosting an exhibition of BCM Photographs, documents and artefacts to coincide with our 125th Anniversary celebrations. 

Through Changing Scenes commences on 22nd October and will conclude on the 29th November. 

On display will be some of the BCM archive's nationally important collection of early twentieth century Hogg images of life in the Belfast slums together with a variety of items representing BCM's involvement in the life of the city.

Lady Hermon MP Welcomes Plans for Copelands, Dementia and Nursing Care

Lady Sylvia Hermon MP has welcomed the news that BCM has submitted a planning application to build Copelands, Dementia and Nursing Care in Millisle.

Lady Hermon recently joined Peter Passmore, Professor of Ageing and Geriatric medicine at Queen's University Belfast, and BCM Dementia Lead Sarah Penney to have a peek at the plans for the new state-of-the-art dementia and nursing care home that will create 60 jobs in North Down.

Claire Keatinge, Commissioner for Older People visits Kirk House

BCM was delighted to welcome Claire Keatinge, Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland to Kirk House recently.  This was a great chance for Kirk House to 'show off' and highlight why it is so different to other similar residential accommodation.  After explaining her role and how she works to help older people across Northern Ireland, the Commissioner toured Kirk House with Manager Sarah Penney and heard how they are developing the Memory Wing to provide specialist dementia care.

4caring Dementia Services

Belfast Central Mission is part of an exciting and innovative new project which aims to improve the quality of, and access to, care and support for older people with dementia and their families in Northern Ireland. This collaborative project, called 4caring, involves three other local community organisations - the Alzheimer’s Society, Extra Care and the Northern Ireland Hospice.

Kirk House Annual Sale 2014

Kirk House will be holding its annual sale on Saturday 31st May 2014 between 10am - 12noon. There will be a range of fun activities for the entire family to enjoy and plenty of stalls. All the money raised on the day will be for the benefit of the residents at Kirk House. Who knows you may find a bargain. There will be games, tea, coffee and scones so come along and join in the fun! Everyone is welcome.
