Supported Accommodation
Supported Accommodation
starting adult life
BCM offers accommodation for up to two years for young people who have been in the care of Social Services or who are experiencing homelessness.* Our Supported Housing accommodation serves young adults aged 16 to 21 in the South Eastern, Northern, Belfast and Southern Trust areas. Referrals can be made by the Health and Social Care Trust or via the Housing Executive.
The overall aim of Supported Housing is to prevent homelessness and prepare the young adults to develop the skills needed to maintain their tenancies when they move on. Our compassion-driven teams provide 24/7 practical, and emotional support through a trauma informed lens with a view to providing a safe space for all who live there.
Every resident is treated as an individual, with their own tailored support plan. This is crucial to achieving the best outcomes possible. One of our services offers emergency accommodation for 16/17 year olds who present as homeless and this assessment accommodation is available for up to 10 days in the South Eastern Trust area.
* Homelessness services are delivered in South Eastern and Northern Trust areas.
Life in our homes
A Place to call home
We offer residents a safe and neutral space that accommodates for up to two years, then assisting the young adults to secure accommodation of their choice when it is time to move on.
Positive engagement with staff is crucial to assist the young adults in navigating the many elements of living independently. Regular person-centred support plans are completed with residents to ensure that they receive the right support. This can include;
- Emotional support.
- Signposting to specialist services e.g drugs, alcohol.
- Therapeutic support.
- Guidance to engage in education, training, and employment.
- Maintaining or building links in the community.
