See in the Summer with BCM's Big Backyard Camp-Out

To mark the end of the school term and celebrate the start of summer, we are encouraging our staff, supporters, service users, volunteer network, donors and members of the public to come together – figuratively speaking – on Saturday, 27th June, for our Big Backyard Camp-Out.

We want everyone to see in the summer with a distraction from lockdown and to embrace the adventure of being outdoors, even it is only feet from your own back door!

You may not know that BCM provides sheltered accommodation and housing support for younger people who may have experience of being homeless so with this initiative we also want to highlight how homelessness is an issue that affects every community across Northern Ireland.

We are acutely aware that the pandemic has meant that many have been unable to take holidays or enjoy weekends away as they normally would at this time of year. It is likely that savings have been made in terms of travel costs, campsite fees and overnight accommodation that unfortunately were unable to be enjoyed, so we are suggesting that those savings could be donated to BCM that we can continue our vital work in this sector.

Whether you have acres of land to play with, a small city yard area, or no outside space at all, we really want to see people get creative and we would love to see photos and videos of everyone who takes part in the Big Backyard Camp-Out!
