BCM Supported Housing Project in Magherafelt celebrated it's 1st Anniversary on Wednesday 20 September. We would like to say thank you to the guests who attended the event, including Northern Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland Housing Executive, local partners from Magherafelt Foodbank and our service users.
BCM Supported Housing expanded its provision last year in Magherafelt. The purpose built unit comprises of 13 self-contained flats and staff accommodation which includes communal space. Four of the flats offer 'step down' accommodation which has a lower level of support for more able young people and the remaining nine flats offer high support for those young people with more complex needs. Referrals can come from either the Northern Health and Social Care Trust or the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. Supported Housing in Magherafelt is the first of BCM's projects to offer accommodation to young people who have not been in care.
The manager and staff team were appointed in the summer of 2016 and the first young people moved in, in September.
