Jane* is a 20 year old single mum with health problems. Her 2 year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and asthma. This has involved numerous visits to the Ulster Hospital. This is particularly difficult and financially demanding as she lives in Portaferry. Rebecca* (her daughter) needed to be monitored day and night.
Jane says that the support of the Parent Support Project has been invaluable for giving her reassurance, social contact at the groups and practical help with lifts to the hospital. She has also been linked to our Therapeutic Counselling Service to deal with issues in her past which resulted in separation from her family.
