Since BCM was founded in 1889 the Christmas programme has continued to be a significant event each year. In spite of the passing of time the programme is still very much needed with people depending on food
and toy donations to ease the financial pressures that exist at this time of the year.

Kirk House Care Home and Ulster University’s Northern Ireland Connected Health Innovation Centre (NI-CHIC) have been working together to explore Age Friendly Innovation as part of an Invest NI funded research project. The project seeks to improve care for residents using innovative technology in a care setting.

Congratulations to the whole team at Kirk House who won the Independent Health Care Team Award and to Andrea, Kirk House Manager who came 2nd in Leadership Award.

Independent Health and Care Providers (ihcp) is a non-profit making organisation representing private, voluntary, charitable and church affiliated providers of health and social care.

Dementia is one of the leading conditions in the elderly, affecting one in six people in the UK who are over the age of 80. Thankfully research has found that people with dementia can slow down and even reverse some symptoms of dementia by doing a few simple activities.
