BCM Project wins €10,000 award from Coca Cola
BCM (Belfast Central Mission) are pleased to announce that they have been awarded €10,000 in the recent Coca-Cola 125 Years Celebratory ‘Thank You Fund’ that donated a total of €125,000 to non-profit community, voluntary and charitable organisations across Ireland.
BCM’s Housing Support for Young People project (based in Ards/Dungannon areas) made the final 45 out of over 600 submissions from charities and this past week learnt that they were one of 15 winners of a Cash grant of either €5,000 or €10,000. BCM were one of only three organisations based in Northern Ireland to receive an award at a ceremony held in Dublin.
‘It is wonderful to see BCM win this money for one of our projects, especially against such great competition. We really do appreciate the time and effort our supporters spent to vote for us on Facebook and the judging panel for seeing the benefits this will give our service users in the Ards/Dungannon areas’. Said BCM Director Brian Burns.
The project benefiting from this award aims to help vulnerable young people in the area adjust to independent living, giving them support, providing basic household items, offering budgeting help, cookery assistance and health advice.
In these challenging times BCM are excited to be awarded such a financial sum and hope that during their 125th anniversary in 2014 they can give something back to the community like Coca Cola has done during its.
